Self-Lubricated Actuators

Sept. 16, 2004
Leadscrew, linear-rail, spline-shaft, and ScrewRail actuator assemblies now carry a Kerkote TFE coating.

Kerkote reduces friction and extends the life of these assemblies. The coating is more evenly distributed than other lubricants, decreasing erratic drag torques and unpredictable wear. Kerkote is designed to provide the maximum level of selflubrication, requiring no additional external lubrication or maintenance. Since it is a dry lubricant, Kerkote will not become dry and pastelike, and does not attract dirt or debris. It differs from conventional plating and coating because it is soft, thus extending the life of polymer nuts and bushings.
