Scanner Motor

Sept. 28, 2006
The MPower Scanner motor handles beam steering for scanning applications.

These devices integrate the mirror, mount, and motor for inertial balance. Mirror selection is based on operating wavelength, power, and beam diameter/spot size. The mirror-mount configuration is determined for multiple mirror orientations and field service, and is paired with a motor based on overall design goals. The optimized mirror designs come in a clear aperture range of 4 to 50 mm, including beryllium and silicon-carbide for greater stiffnesstoinertia ratio. Mirror-mounting designs include direct mounting to the rotor shaft, sleeve-mount, tapered-mount, and integrated mirror-mount.
