The International Society of Automation, Research Triangle Park, N.C., announces that the 2010 Industrial Automation Safety and Security Symposium, sponsored by the ISA Safety Division, will take place April 28 to 29 at the Astor Crowne Plaza in New Orleans. This year's symposium will focus on threats to industrial environments and the steps engineers must consider when designing and optimizing industrial processes and Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS).

ISA training courses include SIS and the ANSI/ISA-84 standard, and industrial automation security and the ANSI/ISA-99 standard. Presentations will provide practical guidance for designing industrial processes, selecting SIS, and protecting these systems against cyber threats and dangerous failures. The day will include three tracks — Alarm Management, SIS, and Cyber Security — and will end with a safety and security panel discussion. A full program will include expert-led sessions, training, social functions, and more. For more information, visit www.isa.org/safetysymp.
