RF Sensors Track Parts

Sept. 2, 2004
BIS S RF-ID systems track parts using high-speed data transmission. Data carriers store 8 or 16 kbytes of data and heads can read/write blocks of data at 2,000 bytes/sec.

Using ferroelectric RAM (F-RAM) eliminates batteries needed for memory storage in traditional RAM-based devices and permits unlimited read/write cycles. Two different-sized data carriers and three read/write heads are available, as are two different handheld programmers. Profibus or DeviceNet processors are optional with either metal or plastic housings.
