Product Spotlight: Self-Aligning Ball Bearings

Oct. 9, 2008
MRC self-aligning ball bearings are designed with two rows of balls with a common sphered raceway in the outer ring.

The design promotes lower friction and temperature, less wear and noise, reduced stress on bearing cages and lubricants, and longer life.

Available with cylindrical or tapered bores in diameters ranging from 5 to 130 mm, the bearings come in open or sealed types and in various cage materials (polyamide, machined brass, or pressed steel). The bearings are engineered with extended inner rings and special bore tolerances for easy mounting and dismounting.

Sealed versions have contact seals on both sides to retain lubricant and protect against contaminants. Synthetic rubber seals resist oil and wear and are reinforced with steel inserts. The bearings’ longlife lithium-base grease performs at –22 to 230°F.
