Product Spotlight: Right-Angle Photoelectric Sensors

Feb. 21, 2008
The M18 photoelectric sensor, with a right-angle prism, is designed to flush mount onto a conveyor to look across the belt or rollers.

The sensors produce high-intensity, pulsed, visible red (660-nm) light for high immunity from interference from other bright lights. A fourth-wire output alerts the control system if there is dirt buildup during operation so any deposits can be removed before object detection becomes critical. Housed in a M18 metal housing, the sensors feature high shock resistance, 10 to 30-Vdc voltage range, overload protection, and are short-circuit and inverse-polarity proof. The units are also stable from –25 to 55°C and can switch output current of 200 mA.
