The Model P-1500 hydraulic orbital forming machine is said to be the largest machine in its class.

ORBITAL FORMING MACHINE

It has a capacity of over 1.5-in. (38.10 mm) diameter in mild steel or an equivalent area in tubing, square, or other forming material. The machine has a maximum downward force of 38,500 lb (19 tons) at 1,000-psi hydraulic. Tight process control allows forming to a given height or variable position at programmable speeds. The system can also form to a precise clamp load between parts. Tool stroke is adjustable from 0.06 to 3 in. (1.52 to 76.20 mm) in 0.001-in. (0.03 mm) increments. Standard throat depth is 9.75 in. (247.6 mm). Vertical saddle height adjustment is 12 in. (304.8 mm). Other features include internally mounted load cell and linear transducer, programmable cycle time, forming pressure and Z-axis; 5-hp 870-rpm, 208-230/460/60/3 motor or optional hydraulic spindle drive; HS-1500 orbital head and developed peen; digital adjustable (0 to 99 sec) dwell timer; and eight-digit resettable cycle counter.
