New Products: Test Points for Dense PCBs

Dec. 9, 2008
Additional colors are available for test points used in high-density PCBs to improve accuracy.

Additional colors are available for test points used in high-density PCBs to improve accuracy. Test points replace wire-wrap posts and turret terminals. Brown, green, blue, purple, and gray join the existing red, black, white, yellow, and orange. The points are used on 0.062 and 0.093-in.-thick PCBs with a variety of gripping devices that include J-Hooks, EZ-Hooks, grabbers, alligator clips, tips, and probes. The devices also keep onboard terminals perpendicular to the PCB so that relative position during and after wave soldering is maintained. The colors are available for use with the company’s miniature, compact and multipurpose test points. Miniature versions are made from 0.010-in. phosphor bronze with silver plating and the compact and multipurpose types use the same materials sized at 0.015-in. diameter. The miniature types mount in a single 0.040-in.-diameter PCB hole and the compact and multipurpose types mount in an 0.063-in.-diameter hole.
