New Products: Temperature-Sensitive Bellows

Dec. 9, 2008
The new “atherm” temperature-sensitive bellows are thin-walled, electro-deposited-nickel bellows soldered to custom end pieces filled with a specific volume of working fluid and then sealed.

The new “atherm” temperature-sensitive bellows are thin-walled, electro-deposited-nickel bellows soldered to custom end pieces filled with a specific volume of working fluid and then sealed. The fluid’s volumetric thermal-expansion characteristic transforms into a precise, measurable linear movement that can be used as an actuator, or calibrated to be read as control data. The movement is completely reversible due to the extremely low hysteresis of the bellows material.
