New Product: Scanning software speeds workflow

Oct. 11, 2007
Scene V4.1 user-friendly software views, administers, calibrates, filters, and manages large 3D point clouds collected with the company’s Laser Scanner LS.

This latest version reduces on-site scanning time and lets users process and present results more effectively. The Laser Scanner is a computerized measurement device that scans, digitally recreates, and records all of an object or area’s dimensions, creating a 3D “photograph” on-screen. The data is used to create a digital model for inspection, reverse-engineering, CAD-topart comparison, factory planning, or investigations.

V4.1 enhancements include: Wi- Fi/WLAN Scanner Connection lets users control scanning from a PDA, mobile phone, laptop, or other Internet Explorer-equipped device; advanced noise reduction; faster color-capture speed; high-quality, automatic overlays of 50 million color pixels; fully automatic color-scan white balancing for improved contrast and clarity; compatibility with Nikon cameras for color scanning; new Draw-to-CAD feature lets users create 3D AutoCad drawings on the fly using Scene’s Photo-View; and importing of CAD files in VRML1 and VRML2.
