New Product: RoHS-Compliant Steppers

Dec. 13, 2007
The SilverPak 23D is a high-torque NEMA-23 stepmotor with an integrated microstepping driver.

The new version of the SilverPak 23D features increased operating voltage range and the ability to use a new configuration module. The motor is available in three body lengths: 2.52, 2.96 and 3.89 in. and is capable of up to 294 oz-in. of holding torque depending on the stack size. It operates from 12 to 48 Vdc and the available phase current ranges from 0.3 to 3 A peak.

This integrated motor/driver combination boasts step resolutions ranging from 2 microstepping up to 256 microstepping and four selectable damping modes. The unit also features optically isolated step, direction, and disable/enable inputs; and undervoltage and overtemperature protection.

The configuration module (sold separately) lets users adjust various parameters that include step resolution, run current, hold current, damping modes for smoother motion, selection of sensing the step pulses on the rising edge or falling edge, selection of sensing the direction change on the rising or falling edge, and others.
