Motor Selection Software

Feb. 17, 2005
Motioneering Application Engine, a motorsizing program, uses a systems approach to select motors and drives from a database of more than 1,700 products.

System requirements for the motor selection software include a Pentium 900 Mhz or higher, Windows 98SE, NT 4.0, 2000, XP, 32-Mbytes RAM, 30-Mbytes free hard disk space, and VGA or better graphics card.

The database includes conventional brushless servomotors, direct-drive rotary and linear servomotors, dc servomotors, and stepper motors. The latest version features Kollmorgen Cartridge DDR servomotors and S600 drive systems at 230, 400, and 480 Vac. Users can sum the effects of multiple-axis motion for power supply and shunt-regeneration sizing. The program considers load and motor parameters, as well as amplifier voltage and current parameters, including the amplifier's time to deliver peak current.
