Mold Design Made Easier

Oct. 21, 2004
Version 16 of Solid Edge, will deliver expanded Mold Tooling capabilities.

Enhancements to Solid Edge Mold Tooling lets it support many multicore, multicavity plastic injection molds of unlimited size, including complex three plate and stripper-plate molds, in a variety of international standards.

The enhanced Mold Tooling application adds to existing capabilities by automating the design of additional features such as runner bars, slides, lifters, inserts, stripper plates and water channels, beyond existing Core/Cavity creation, ejector pins, runners and gate capabilities. In addition, Solid Edge Mold Tooling now comes with standard component libraries for Strack and Rabourdin to complement an existing array of libraries for DME, Hasco, LKM, and Misumi, as well as a new capability to define custom mold bases of any size or shape.
