 The low-profile QSFP direct-attach copper cable assembly is “fiberlike” in size for QDR InfiniBand and 40 GbE aggregate applications. For use in dense, higher-port-count switch installations, the cable provides an even more-reliable interconnect for high-performance computing (HPC). The 4× channel, eight-pair cable has a 0.170-in. diameter, and is targeted at HPC applications where high-density port-count interconnects are 2 m or less.The reduced bend radius and smaller diameter of the cable allows for aggressive routing as well as cleaner dressing of the cables in HPC environments.
