Level Sensor Avoids Clogged Diaphragms

March 22, 2007
The PT12 Series of flush-mounted transmitters measure pressure and level in processes where clogging diaphragm faces are a concern.

The 1-in.-diameter transmitter can be mounted flush with the inside wall of 2-in.-diameter pipes and larger tanks to measure levels. This eliminates buildup of solids often encountered with conventional flange-mount and recessed-diaphragm pressure transmitters. PT12 Series uses ceramic capacitive pressure sensors and converts readings into a standard two-wire, 4 to 20-mA output via either a polyurethane cable or micro-DIN electrical connection. The PT12 fixed-range transmitters come in seven sizes and have scale gauge pressure ranges from 0 to 150 psi. For intermediate ranges, the PT10 Series. For installation PMC offers its patented 1-in.-diameter nipple available in either a weld-on or 1⁄2-in.-NPT screwed-in format.
