High-Flow Polyesters

March 9, 2006
Pocan DPB 3225XF and 3235XF high-flow polyesters have good toughness and hydrolytic resistance.

These polybutylene terephthalates (PBTs) can mold thin-wall components with complex geometries. Parts made with the PBTs maintain dimensional stability to 140°C. For injection-molding shearing rates, the melt viscosity of 3235XF is about half that of standard PBTs in the Pocan family of resins. The high-flow property lets molders reduce injection pressures or temperatures. Faster cooling from lower injection temperatures can reportedly cut cycle times up to 30%.
