Grippers pack long stroke in tiny package

    The GD500 series of three-jaw grippers use a piston-drive cam mechanism to deliver relatively large strokes from a small device.

    The smallest of the three units has a 30-mm stroke in a gripper 71-mm thick. The other two have 40 and 60-mm strokes in packages 100-mm thick. Pneumatic versions exert 2,840 N of closing force and hydraulic versions put out 12,400 N. The grippers are guided by an extra large T-slot, which provides more stability against moment loads and greater resistance to side loads. All grippers have several standard air connections on the side and bottom for easy mounting, and bottom connections may be used with manifold plates for hose-less connections.
