Dynamometers

Nov. 3, 2005
DnyoLAB LT dynamometers offer the test-control and data-acquisition capabilities required for basic electric motor testing as well as all of the benefits of an ac motoring dynamometer.

But they are priced up to 35% less than a comparably equipped DynoLAB EM system. Unlike earlier models, the new systems have a fixed I/O configuration optimized for basic electric motor testing. The systems can measure speed and torque, and have optional voltage and current supply to the motor under test. This data allows calculation of values including input and output power and efficiency. The software, a subset of DynoLAB EM, is capable of most performance, durability, and quality-control testing. The devices work with the Accudyne line of ac motoring dynamometers and are appropriate in applications that need both driving and loading capabilities. Such applications include those requiring direct measurement of true no-load speed and current, bearing and windage losses, and back-EMF generation.
