Dodge Sling Shot

April 1, 2004
The words "affordable" and "sports car" are two words not often used in the same sentence.

Enter the concept, an affordable, fuel-efficient sports car. The Sling Shot features a rear-mounted, three-cylinder gas engine that churns out 100 hp and links to a five-speed manual transmission. Rack-and-pinion steering, four-wheel independent suspension, and four-wheel disc brakes are said to make the concept fun to drive as well as contribute to its 45-mpg status. For convertible cruising, the roof and two side rails can be removed and stored in the trunk.
