Bearing Housings

Nov. 3, 2005
SNL split plummer-block housings for bearings mount quickly to preassembled shafts and promote proper lubrication, long life, and reduced maintenance.

The two-piece assemblies handle heavy radial loads in fans, blowers, conveyors, and other applications. Standard cast-iron housings-accommodate shaft diameters from 20 to 160 mm. The housings are suited for self-aligning ball bearings, spherical roller bearings, and CARB toroidal roller bearings lubricated with grease or oil. Standard seals include double-lip, V-ring, felt ring, labyrinth, heavy-duty "taconite," and end plugs. Reinforced bases enhance attachment bolt support and improve radial load support. Extra ribs in the housing base provide additional surface contact with the base plate, improving heat flow away from the bearing for cooler running and optimized service life.
