Formlabs Introduces Flexible BioMed and Dental Resins

BioMed Elastic 50A Resin, Flex 80A Resin and IBT Flex Resin are designed for 3D printing biocompatible parts in dental and healthcare.

BioMed Elastic 50A and BioMed Flex 80A Resins can be used in the production of 3D-printed surgical models, medical devices and other biocompatible parts. IBT Flex Resin targets dental applications. It is specifically designed to be tear-resistant, accurate and transparent, which makes the material suitable for a range of dental applications, including 3D-printed direct composite restoration guides and indirect bonding trays.

Key features of the materials include:

  • BioMed Resins are ISO 10993 and USP Class VI certified, ensuring safety and biocompatibility
  • IBT Flex Resin is Class I FDA registered
  • Available for use with Form 3B/+ and Form 3BL printers
  • Designed to streamline workflows.

Personalized Healthcare, Digital Dentistry

BioMed Elastic 50A offers softness and elasticity, making it suitable for long-term skin contact. It can be used to produce mass-personalized medical devices, soft-tissue models, gastrointestinal models and complex neurovascular models.

BioMed Flex 80A is a firm and flexible material that provides durability and transparency. It can be directly printed to produce flexible, patient-specific medical devices and firm tissue medical models.

IBT flex is a biocompatible material designed for dental and orthodontic applications. Its enhanced flexibility, tear resistance and translucency enable the printing of highly accurate indirect bonding trays and direct composite restoration guides. This helps dental labs and clinics maintain necessary accuracy for orthodontic brackets and restorative composite materials.
